Hello: I searched for all properties with market value lower than $2,600/acre in a particular state. The search returned 25 pages of results (counties in the state within specified acreage ranges). Then I thought I would search for properties lower than $3,600/acre in the same state to see how many more counties the search returned. I was surprised that the second search returned the same number of pages -- 25. I parsed the results a bit and found that some of the lower value counties returned in the first search did not turn up in the second search. It seemed like the second, higher value search should have included all of the counties from the first search. Can you help me figure out what is going on?
Thank you and I am loving Prycd in spite of this conundrum.
Scott
Hi Scott,
You bring up a great point about our system! We return a maximum of 200 rows of results for any search (25 pages * 8/page). This is simply a technology limitation and not an intentional design choice. What's happening in your searches is that we run your filter criteria against all of the results possible, and then using a simple sorting algorithm, return the "top" 200. This ranking is based on some pricing metrics and county rankings, so it will change as you change your inputs.
Depending on how you are intending to search, what I would recommend is breaking up your search by using our acreage increment filter (links below) such that your results for any given search are limited to 200 rows before any filter is applied, and from that we can filter and sort the data in a way that is more consistent and expected.
Hopefully this helps! Please let us know if you still have questions!
